About
Siberian-born artist and anthropologist. I studied at Saint Petersburg University and at Central European University in Budapest, and completed my doctorate at Heidelberg University in 2024 with a thesis on care and transgression among volunteers in Kolkata. The book Sacred Dirt: Repulsion and Care in Volunteers’ Kolkata, based on this research, is published in 2027 with Oxford University Press.
My work moves between the studio and the field: sculpture, photography and drawing made in the places I study, shown alongside the research.
